frequently asked questions

What will happen after I contact you?

I respond to ask if you would like to book in an initial, brief, introduction call, which I offer to all prospective clients without obligation. This gives you a chance to ask any questions you have and tell me a bit more about what’s happening for you at the moment.

We can also discuss what you would like to gain from psychotherapy and discuss any concerns you may have. If you feel you would like to progress, we can then discuss booking in an initial session.

What is the UKCP?

The UKCP verifies and accredits UK therapists, ensuring they meet high academic and ethical standards. Having this certification shows that the therapist has the right training to work with you and that they follow professional guidelines set by the organisation.

How long do sessions last? How many will I need?

Sessions last for 50 minutes, with just the two of us present. Sessions usually occur on a weekly basis, where possible. I recognise that weekly attendance with a fixed slot can be difficult for many clients, so it is a specific feature of my practice that a range of slots can be offered on a flexible, rolling basis.

Each person is unique and we can regularly discuss how many sessions you feel are right for you and how you feel the work we are doing together is developing.
